Create Your First Voice Agent

Go from sign-up to a speaking agent in a few minutes.

Before you begin

  • Use a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari).
  • Be ready to allow microphone access.
  • Have a public website URL or a PDF if you plan to teach the agent now.

What this does

You’ll create your first agent, give it some knowledge, pick a role, and test it in the preview.

Steps

  1. Sign up or log in

    • Your first agent is created for you automatically.
  2. Train your agent (add knowledge)

    • Open Train Voice Agent in the left menu.
    • Pick one:
      • Crawl your website (many pages)
        • We run a quick Discovery to find pages on your site.
        • You’ll see a confirmation with pages found vs. your plan limits.
        • Click Confirm to start Ingestion (learning the content).
      • Scrape a single page (one URL)
        • Paste the page URL. Click Start.
      • Upload a PDF
        • Select your file. Click Upload.
  3. Choose the agent’s role

    • Open Configure Voice Agent
    • Pick a role that matches your business.
    • You can modify the greeting instructions to better suit your brand
  4. Preview your agent

    • Open Preview Voice Agent.
    • Click the voice button. Allow microphone access.
    • The voice agent should greet you and initiate a conversation

What you should see

  • New knowledge sources appear in a list with status (processing → ready).
  • The agent greets you clearly when you start a session.
  • Answers use your new sources once they are ready.

Tips

  • Keep sources public. Login‑only pages can’t be crawled.
  • Large sites take longer. Start with key pages (FAQ, services, pricing).
  • You can cancel a running crawl and delete sources later.
  • Roles help set tone. Pick the closest match first; refine instructions after testing.

Troubleshooting

  • No microphone prompt or it’s blocked
    • Check browser site permissions. See “Troubleshooting › Microphone access.”
  • No audio or no reply
    • See “Troubleshooting › No audio or response.”
  • Crawl stuck or too many pages
    • See “Troubleshooting › Crawler stuck or over limit.”
  • Agent answers don’t reflect your content
    • Make sure sources are “ready.” Re-scrape or upload again if the page changed.

Next steps

  • Go Live › Configure allowed domains.
  • Go Live › Choose platform + get the code.
  • Go Live › Embed on any website or WordPress plugin.
  • Keep teaching your agent: Scrape a single page, Crawl your website, or Upload a PDF.
